We teach the lessons ourselves. If something is not working for your child, you are talking to the people who can change it.

I didn’t have much guidance when it came to education, and going to university was rare where I grew up. I worked hard and did well at GCSE, but when I got to college, I struggled. I didn’t really know how to study effectively, and my grades started to slip.

Over time, I learned what actually works, found my way into medical school, and have since spoken to and guided almost 1,000 students on their academic journeys. I created GCSE2MED to give students the guidance, support and confidence I wish I’d had earlier.

Throughout school, I was fortunate to have great people around me who guided me, answered my questions and pushed me to believe I could achieve highly. That support played a huge role in helping me succeed academically and eventually make my way into medicine.

I’ve been tutoring for around six years, working with students from different backgrounds and abilities. Over that time, I’ve learnt that every student learns differently, and sometimes the right explanation or guidance can make all the difference. Now, as a medical student, I want to use what I’ve learnt from my own journey and years of tutoring to give students the guidance, support and confidence they need to reach their potential. That’s why I created GCSE2MED.

Why we exist

“They're doing fine” is not information

Parents pay for tuition and then spend the year with no real idea whether it is working. Reports come back positive, mock results come back mixed, and nobody can say which topics are actually the problem.

GCSE2MED is built the other way round. We diagnose first, we categorise every mistake, and we show you the movement — topic by topic, week by week.

We don't guess what you need. We measure it.

What we stand on

Four things we will not compromise

Measure, don't reassure

Every student is assessed before they are taught, and re-assessed after. If a parent asks how their child is doing, the answer is a number and a plan, not a feeling.

Small enough to be noticed

Groups are capped at eight, six or four. A student who goes quiet for two weeks gets picked up, because there is nowhere in a group that size to go quiet.

Fix the cause, not the symptom

A wrong answer is only useful if you know why it happened. Knowledge, exam technique and carelessness are three different problems and we treat them as such.

Say it straight

If we are not the right fit for a family, we say so on the first call. If a student is not doing the work, we tell you that too.

Working with under-18s

Most of our students are under eighteen, and we take that seriously. We are developing our safeguarding information. Please contact us to discuss tutor checks, online lesson arrangements and how to raise a concern before enrolling your child.
